A court here yesterday sentenced two people to life imprisonment for killing a freedom fighter (FF) in 2003. The court also acquitted one Khairul Baser, Julhas and Jahangir Kabir of Mendipur village in Khaliajuri upazila of murder charges. The lifers are Ruhul Amin alias Milon, son of Abdul Jalil Shah Fakir of Mendipur and Rafiqul Islam, son of Abdul Gani of Garaund village in Mohonganj upazila of the district. According to the prosecution, Ruhul and Rafiqul killed FF Siddikur Rahaman of Garaund village in Mohonganj upazila over previous enmity on October 9 in 2003. Four staffs of Habiganj district Sadar Hospital were assaulted by the aggrieved relatives after a patient died on Saturday.
