Frames of Life - concludes in port city

Featuring screening of ten short films directed by ten young filmmakers of Chittagong, a film festival titled “Frames of Life” was held at Theatre Institute, Chittagong (TIC) in the port city on Thursday.
Film Makers Guild, a newly formed platform of Chittagong based young film makers, organised the festival.
Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Md Majurul Alam inaugurated the festival as chief guest, where eminent artiste Dhali Al Mamun and poet Kamrul Hasan Badal were present as special guests. The organisation's coordinator Naim Mahtab Morshed presided over the programme while its Member Secretary Dr Rishin Dastider emceed.
Appreciating the young filmmakers for organising the programme, Mayor Manjurual Alam said films can play a significant role in positive change of society and young filmmakers of the city should give attention to uphold the ongoing crisis of the society.
Talking to The Daily Star, Dhali Al Mamun said it is of hope for us that these young people initiated to make off beat films, zooming in on life of the city and its surroundings.
When asked about the aim of the organisation, Rafiqul Anowar Russell, an organiser of the festival, said the organisation will work for creating a congenial environment for filmmakers in Chittagong that will give them access to the broader arena of film art and industry.
Following the discussion, “Shomoy”, directed by Abu Naim Mahtab Morshed, Alamgir Kabir's “Lightman”, Rafiqul Anowar Russell's “The Adventurer”, “Lorai” by Mokaddem Morshed, “Room” by Anjan Sarkar Jimmy, Morshed Himadri Himu's “Tara”, Pankaj Chowdhury's “Nagar Kanya”, “Deyal” directed by Sujan Bhattacharjee, Hindol Roy's “Khola Hawa” and Anik Mitra's “Noorjahan” were screened at the festival.
