SONAM KAPOOR on her Cannes Wardrobe

Showcasing international brands is actress Sonam Kapoor's everyday style statement -- but promoting desi designers and Indian elements is the motto for the young and stylish actress whenever she makes an appearance at foreign venues. Set to make her red carpet appearance on May 18 and 19 at the 67th annual Cannes International Film Festival, the actress feels that if one embraces one's body the way it is, then one would look beautiful.  The 28-year-old is set to make her fourth appearance at the prestigious festival, starting on May 14. Her previous Cannes wardrobe included a sari teamed up with a jacket by designer Anamika Khanna. She had accessorised it with a kundan nose ring.

Rahul Bose's first tryst with dance for film

Known for his offbeat choice of cinema, Rahul Bose has finally rehearsed dance steps for a song in a film. It was quite an experience for him. "For the first time in my career, yesterday (Thursday) I rehearsed dance steps for a song in a film. Two choreographers have been hospitalised for shock. Another choreographer laughed so hard they had to call in the paramedics. #burst blood vessel #my first dance number," Rahul posted on Twitter Friday. He felt his performance was good.

Roberto Orci to Direct Star Trek 3?

After the box office success of its predecessors, Star Trek 3 is a go! There will be a change in command however, as franchise helmer J.J. Abrams is committed to directing Star Wars: Episode VII and so only stays on as a producer. Paramount is keen to get Star Trek 3 into theaters by 2016 to mark the franchises 50th anniversary. This news was quickly followed by reports that Abrams' Bad Robot shingle, which is still producing Star Trek 3 alongside Skydance Productions, has been pushing Roberto Orci into the frontrunner position for the job. Several different names were batted around in the past half-year, with Attack the Block director Joe Cornish the most recent – but it turns out the frontrunner may end up with the job after all. Rumours suggest that Robert Orci is “in talks” to direct Star Trek 3, with both Bad Robot and Skydance now lobbying Paramount to sign off on Orci taking the captain's chair.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 5

Hires 'Call of Duty' Series Writer

Tom Cruise is returning to his most lucrative franchise, producing and starring in Mission: Impossible 5. As a producer, Cruise has hired different directors for each film, and with The Incredibles mastermind Brad Bird at the helm of 2011′s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, that film became the top-grossing film of the franchise and Cruise's career. The next installment of the series has Jack Reacher writer-director Christopher McQuarrie aboard, with Iron Man 3 screenwriter Drew Pearce handling script duties. With the film scheduled for a Christmas 2015 release date and a potential co-star in the form of Zero Dark Thirty's Jessica Chastain, M:I 5 was thought to be ready to enter production or even shooting by now. However, a new report suggests that screenwriter Will Staples has evidently been hired to take another pass at Drew Pearce's script, the plot for which is still tightly under wraps. Staples is best known as a video game writer, having crafted the story behind the 2011 juggernaut Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as well as Need for Speed: Rivals.

LATA MANGESHKAR  follows cricket closely

Her favourite player, Sachin Tendulkar, may not be playing any more, but Lata Mangeshkar's interest in cricket has not waned. The octogenarian makes it a point to watch every match that India plays and has been following the ongoing season of IPL too. When quizzed about who she thinks has been playing well, she mentioned Virat Kohli, while heaping praises on M S Dhoni as well. In fact, she went ahead and gave MSD a spontaneous endorsement saying that every time Dhoni gets on to the field, she feels assured. "At least we lose fewer matches under his captaincy," she signs off.

‘BOURNE 5′ GETS FORMER 'LOGAN'S RUN' SCREENWRITER

Universal has officially set an August 2015 release date for Bourne 5 (a.k.a. Untitled Jason Bourne Sequel), with Fast & Furious 6's Justin Lin set to direct. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tony Gilroy (who penned the Bourne Trilogy and the The Bourne Legacy) is not returning to pen the screenplay, and now we have a report naming Andrew Baldwin as the scribe who will take over the franchise storyline. An earlier draft of Bourne 5 was reportedly penned by Sherlock Holmes and Invictus screenwriter, Anthony Peckham. While Baldwin has no produced credits, his spec script The West is Dead landed on the 2008 Black List and he's been associated with several different projects since. He is probably best known as one of the many writers who have been hired to take a stab at the long-gestating Logan's Run remake.
